Crane’s Lochaven Lodges French River Upgrades 2023

We had a six day window to renovate cabin 1 between the Monday after opening weekend to Jimmy’s arrival the following Saturday. It would be our only opportunity until the end of season close. Kyle accepted the challenge. As Jimmy was driving up highway 400, Kyle and Paddy were installing the toilet, all of housekeeping were cleaning and Ed was painting the window sill. Mission accomplished just under the wire.

Cabin 9 was leveled, reinforced and the sliding patio door was replaced. An initiative like this may seem minuscule but when you start tearing apart a 100 year old log cabin, it is sure to lead into a project. Same happened with cabin 7 bathroom. There was insulation that was visible in the doorway. What we thought was a quick patch job led to ripping out an interior and exterior wall and then rebuilding from two-by-fours.

Ceiling fans were replaced in a number of cabins.

A fire pit was built to service cabins 12, 14, & 15.

The shower and sink taps were replaced in cabin 10.

Cabin 2 carpets were replaced with vinyl flooring. This concludes our carpet replacement project. Carpets in all the cabins to date have been replaced.

We added two fishing pontoon boats to our fleet, one with a new Honda 75 hp. We now have 14 fishing pontoon boats.
